Warning: This is an Unpublished Case. For information only. No precedential value.

While California divorce pending, Wife enforced her Iranian Dowry which resulted travel ban against Husband (not leaving to country until the Dowry is paid). Husband requested and California Court ordered Wife to dismissal of the Iranian filed dissolution, her Dowry demand and, removing Husband’s Iranian travel ban. The trial court imposed sanction for $20,000.00 under California Family Code section 271 because Wife’s “conduct has frustrated the policy of the law to promote settlement of litigation.” The Appellate court found substantial evidence supporting the order and affirmed.
